Ahsay leverages a suite of technologies and settings to ensure data reliability and consistency, minimize backup transfer size, and boost overall performance:
- Select all VMs or specific VMs to back up.
- Select specific virtual disks on each VM for backup to focus on protecting critical data while optimizing backup performance and storage usage.
- Microsoft VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Service), which takes a snapshot of the guest VMs to ensure complete data consistency.
- Application-aware backups for Windows guest VMs automatically flush all in-memory data and pending transactions to disk to guarantee application-level data consistency.
- Windows RCT (Resilient Change Tracking) technology detects data block level changes on a guest VM, which means only data blocks that have changed since the last backup job are included in the backup data.
- Automatically excludes the swap file and deleted data blocks on the virtual disk(s) from the backup data.
